As an administrator in Iris, you will need to be able to set up a view. You will also need to be able to edit an existing view. Let’s have a look at how to do this in more detail.

 

How to set up a view

Follow these steps to set up a view in Iris.

1. Click on Configuration on the navigation bar at the top of the screen.

1. Select Views and Manage Views from the drop-downs.

1. The Views page will be displayed.

2. Click the Add View icon.

1. The Create a new View pop-up will be displayed.

2. Complete all the fields for the new view.

3. Write the name of the new view in the Name field.
4. In the Description field you add a description of the view.
5. Select the type of customer from the drop-down in the Type field.
6. Type in the customer code in the Code field.

1. Complete all the fields in the accordion.

2. Click Save.

 

It is important to complete the Business Hours and Time zone tab.

 

Edit an existing view

You can also edit an existing view.

1. The Views screen will be displayed.

2. Search for your customer in the filter field of the View Name column by using keywords.

3. Select your customer by clicking in the Sel column on the left of your screen.

4. Click on the edit icon at the top of the screen or the edit icon in the Actions column.

1. The Edit View pop-up will be displayed.

2. Edit the relevant information in the fields.

3. Click on each of the tabs of the accordion to edit the information.

4. Click Save.

What makes up a site within a view

Typically, a site is made up of a primary link, a backup link and a CE device. It is useful to group these together under a site for the customer instead of directly under the customer. For example, the Santon site on the graphic below.

 

If there is an IPSLA test that pertains to the site, that should also be under the site.
