
| Right-click on the map canvas. The drop-down menu will be displayed.
Click Add node.

The Add node pop-up will be displayed.
Node type
| Select whether the node is a device or a view.
| Node label
| Choose a meaningful label.
| Device name
| Start typing a device name and then choose the device name from the drop-down list.
| Eventsource
| This list is derived from the Current alarms table and you can select the source required from the drop-down. Leave as default Any for all events. Some examples of event sources are:
- Threshmon -> Threshold Breaches
- SYSLOG -> Syslogs being sent to Iris
| Datasource
| This list is derived from the Current alarms table and you can select the source required from the drop-down. Leave as default Any for all events. Some of the more common data sources are:
- itraffic -> Interface Traffic
- unixServerStorage -> Storage on Unix Devices
| Choose icon
| Select the icon you wish to depict from the drop-down.

| Select the size of the icon. You can make it smaller or larger from the drop-down list.

| Tick the Display glyph icon to indicate the alarm status of the node.
